S= Sentence, NP=noun phrase, VP= verb phrase, det=determiner, N=noun, V=verb, adv=adverb, aux=auxiliary verb, prep= preposition, adj= adjective

What is an  Adjective ? Adjective is words that describe or modify the quality of noun or pronoun. Examples: blue, bright, tall, short, thin, good, kind, etc. Let us make it into a sentence! 1.  Clause   the word 'which' here qualifies the noun 'grass'. a clause is a group of words that contains a subject and a predicate, and forms part of a sentence. a sentence may have one or more than one clause. 2.  Kind of clause Independent clause : is a group of words that has a subject and verb. It is used as a part of sentence but grammatically independent and it could therefore stand alone. E.g: you are not allowed to enter the class  because you came late more than 30 minutes. Dependent Clause : is introduced with a subordinator conjunction such as when, while, if, or before.
